![]() Have you ever dreamed of being able to dip your hand in that pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, or heading through a field of clover and finding the elusive four leaved one? How many of you realise that a pot of gold or a four leaved clover are actually part of you already? Now you may be wondering what I mean by this. You already own the most amazing gifts called your heart and your brain. These two resources can lead you wherever you desire to go. You just need to listen to them. So let me give you an example. Have you ever been walking round a supermarket and noticed a person struggling to reach something high up? Did you instinctively go over to help? Or did you just carry on because you were in a rush or too nervous to offer to help in case they were offended? Every time I would offer to help. The worst they can say to me is 'no'. The best is to start a conversation with someone who may not have spoken to anyone all day and was beginning to wonder if anyone cared. You can make a difference to someone with such a small act of kindness. And it makes you feel good. It empowers you to know that you are a catalyst to a positive future for yourself and whoever steps in your rainbow. I dare you tomorrow to make a difference to a stranger. ![]() Seven days have already passed of this New Year. How many of you have already been tempted by one of the seven deadly sins? Pride has been called the sin from which all the others arise. Pride may also be known as Vanity. Were you offered help but your pride stopped you accepting it? Hypnotherapy for pride may help develop a personal pride that is needed in building up self-image, self-confidence and the ability to allow others to help whilst still feeling in control. Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation. Have you watched other people and been envious of all that they are doing? Do you forget all the amazing stuff that you actually achieved yourself? Again with hypnotherapy for envy, it may be that one of the sessions is to do with self-esteem, allowing the individual’s subconscious mind to realise all the things it already has. Gluttony is a desire to consume more than one requires. Do you eat just because it’s in front of you, feel full and carry on eating? There are many ways of working with food issues using hypnotherapy. We look at past events which have lead to the food issues, to some of my clients favorite ones, avoiding sweet stuff completely. Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body. Again there are many ways hypnotherapy may help with all sexual issues such as teaching relaxation techniques to preventing over excitement. Anger also known as Wrath. Hypnotherapy can be used in many situations, from teaching someone how to stay in control using relaxation techniques. A good example of this is road rage, being able to control your temper instead of getting angry at another driver or pedestrian. Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of spiritual gain. Are you always trying to gain that extra dollar no matter what the consequences? Hypnotherapy can help you to learn to slow down and allows others to gain. Have you ever helped someone and later found out they will help you in the future more than you can ever imagine That older person in the street, might just be the Mother or Father of someone who will change your life because you did a good deed with no material gain. Again it may be using hypnotherapy to help you gain the confidence to make that connection. Sloth or extreme laziness is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. If you lack confidence this can come across as laziness or maybe fear of the unknown. Hypnotherapy may help with fear, anxiety, and confidence issues. Hypnotherapy is used for so many reasons, it really isn’t some form of medieval magic. It just helps the conscious mind to relax and allow the amazing subconscious mind to work at its best. Why not give me a call to book that first session. I am currently based in Harley Street London and Sussex. Let’s start to break down those deadly sins. Becky 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com www.BeckyWells.com ![]() So they say we can link ourselves to everyone in the world by a maximum of six degrees of separation? Well let’s try it. How can I be linked to Tom Cruise? I have done some work as Associate Personal Trainer for Matt Roberts. Matt Roberts has trained Mel C, Mel C is friends and part of the same girl group as Victoria Beckham. Victoria Beckham is married to David Beckham who is good friends with Tom Cruise. Well would have thought it he never calls or phones when we are linked so closely (laughs out loud) It just shows you also what a small world it really is and how friendship can be shared all around the world without a second thought. Do you ever take the time to sit and talk to your friends or are you someone who unloads everything on them? Some people lack the confidence to tell their story, why not allow the quietest person in the group to lead the conversation one day. You may be surprised at the life changing thoughts they have been afraid to share. If you’re that quiet person and feel you don’t have the confidence to speak up get help to overcome it. Hypnotherapy can help to raise your confidence and self esteem. You may not realise it but many top individuals still have underlying confidence issues. They’ve just learnt how to override it with their conscious mind. Wouldn’t it be an amazing if you could feel confident enough to stand up and say, “This is how I’d do it”. Who knows where or what you might end up doing! If you would like help with confidence or self-esteem, give me a call Becky 07801 941949 Becky@beckywells.com www.BeckyWells.com ![]() First day of appointments in the New Year, up bright and early seeing my first client at 7:30am. After my first appointment I headed off from Burgess Hill cross country to Horsham to train the team from the West Sussex magazine ETC and County Times magazine. Luckily they are a very enthusiast group, which always makes my job easier. Although I don't think I'll ever be able to think about Rhinos in the same way again, thanks to Mark Dunsford!! My mission now is to give Simon Robb the washboard abs he desires for the summer. So can hypnotherapy help with fitness and weight loss? The answer is yes in a lot of cases. I have worked with a number of people in the past couple of years by changing their habits through hypnotherapy. For example by hypnotising them to stop eating chocolate and sweet stuff, stopping comfort eating, and so on. The list is endless. I offer a combination of hypnotherapy and fitness advice which is combination that will help to change your mind, change your habits and change your life. Other exciting news is that the Pay it a Forward bands have arrived, all 5000 of them. If you have an idea for a Pay it Forward let me know, If I can help I will. Why not drop me a line? I love to hear your comments Becky becky@beckywells.com www.BeckyWells.com If someone had suggested to me a few years ago that I'd be running round a field chased by zombies and ghouls just outside Crawley I would have laughed.
Tulley's farm has put a lot of effort into providing entertainment for all at their spooktacular event that runs for two weeks of the year. I recommend it if you haven't been. Jonathan Ross was there enjoying it the other day. Not sure if I consider him more scary than the attractions! My Kung Fu training is going well, I guess it helps having a 1:1 instructor. I love the challenge of learning the next section each week. Hypnotherapy can help you with fear of the unknown, or to help improve your sporting performance using techniques like visualisation, focusing and relaxation. I also think it's so important to link with other professionals. One of the things I have tried to do in the last few months is meet up with others in Sussex and London. A good network is such an important asset to any business. I was also impressed to find I had made an appearance in Glamour Magazine November 2012 issue on page 298, a feature with Matt Roberts and the So what's on the agenda next week? I am off to meet a couple of health professionals in London. If I like what I find,! I am hoping be able to refer clients to them over the coming months where appropriae. I've also been given the opportunity to try an Ayurvedic treatment. I'm looking forward to experiencing it. Why not book an appointment with me at my Harley Street clinic or in one of my clinics down in Sussex. I was beginning to feel like I’d been attached to a yo-yo. The week started off with a trip up to London, only to be told my client didn’t realise they were booked in! So I made use of the time and explore London on foot by walking back from Knightsbridge to Victoria. It’s surprising how close everything really is when you start walking. Also on a sad note for me, I lost a family pet, who had become a large part of the Wells family life. I think you only realise how much they affect you when they’re not there anymore. There’s that glance when you move the chair so as not to catch them with it, or that moment as you go to say goodbye as you walk out the door and you remember he’s not there. Who’s going to tidy the slippers left on the floor now! I was lucky enough to have had the honour to share his life and for that I will always be grateful. So what else have I been up to? This week saw me taking my second one-to-one lesson in Kung Fu with the Kung Fu School Crawley. Dave, my instructor, is very patient. I have learnt so much in the first couple of sessions. For me it’s a great new hobby. Kung Fu translates to ‘achievement of man’. It’s helping me focus on the fact that with time and energy, anything can be achieved. You may be wondering what all this has to do with hypnotherapy or the other work that I do? Hypnotherapy is one of many therapies that can help you through the stages of loss. Having someone to talk to when everything seems against you, is like trying to jump that eight foot wall but never quite reaching it, until a friendly pair of hands gives you a lift over. Learning to relax and live in the moment, rather than dwelling on a past that cannot be changed, can be a life changing experience. Let’s see what October’s got in store for us apart from Ghosts and Ghouls… Oh and of course my yearly trip out on my broomstick on the 31st! There is nothing like swimming with thousands of fish, rays and sharks to make you realise how close we really are to nature, or riding a coaster which takes you through various g-forces! Where is your favourite place to relax? Some may find it’s the beach, others a room in their own home. When I see clients for hypnotherapy I use their favourite resting place to increase their relaxed state. My favourite is a sandy beach with my toes just by the edge of the water and the waves almost tickling my toes as they’re gently drawn back into the sea. Do you find it hard to relax? Hypnotherapy can show you how to relax. I work with many individuals who, due to work stress, home stress or just plan stress, just can’t relax. Their bodies just go into a vicious circle. They are unable to sleep due to thoughts in their heads, then unable to work effectively due to insomnia. Hypnotherapy can help put them back in control of their thoughts. Most people I’ve seen for hypnotherapy say they get the best night’s sleep ever following the session. You’d think I’d not been up to much else whilst lazing on loungers and riding rollercoasters. Bet while I was away and after email conversations with Charley Johnson, the President of the Global Pay it Forward Foundation, (www.pifexperience.org) I have now set up a ‘Pay it Forward’ UK group. What is ‘Pay it Forward’? Years ago I watched a film called ‘Pay it Forward’. It was based on a true story of a social studies class that was set an assignment to change the world. One of the young class members decided his project was to be to ‘Pay it Forward’. Do a good deed for three people and instead of expecting a reward you ask them each to ‘Pay it Forward’ to three more people and so it continues like a small ripple getting bigger and bigger. Charley Johnson has taken it one step further by offering a bracelet as a reminder of the deed; we will have 10,000 of these in the UK soon. If you are an individual or a company interested in sponsoring the bracelets in the UK please contact me through my web page www.payitforwarduk.net Don’t forget to let us know your PIF experience when giving and receiving apart from the web page you can also follow us on twitter at https://twitter.com/payitforwarduk Don’t forget to use hashtag #pifuk when tweeting about your ‘Pay it Forward’ experience or email us at payitforwarduk@beckywells.com. What’s in the diary for my first week back? On Monday I’m taking up a new hobby, I’ll leave it till the next blog to tell you all about that. I’m off to see five new personal training clients in Knightsbridge on Monday evening. Then Thursday hopefully will be meeting up with one of the board members from the Pay It Forward foundation. For hypnotherapy, sports massage and personal training appointments please contact me via any of the details below. I look forward to hearing from you. Becky Director - Becky Wells Limited Ground Floor, No 2 Harley Street London W1 United Kingdom Website: www.BeckyWells.com Twitter: @beckyjoewells Contact telephone number +44 7801 941949 Subscribe to my newsletters at http://eepurl.com/n8Svf Have you ever seen the film 'Pay it Forward'? I was surprised how many people hadn't when I started to talk about it. It is basically about how one good deed deserves another but rather than returning the good deed to the same person, you suggest they do a good deed for someone else. Therefore you 'Pay it Forward'.
Little did I know until the other day that there is a 'Pay it Forward' Foundation. When I described how I'd done such a deed and tweeted about it. I was amazed and extremely honoured to get a message from Charley Johnson, the head of the pif foundation www.pifexperience.org. Let's get 'pif' rippling out across the UK. Just make one kind gesture and watch the ripple grow! Things have been steady growing work-wise and I can't believe it's been two months since I started the company! I'm looking into setting up a training branch at the moment and I have a meeting set up to discuss international clinics. I already have two people on a waiting list even though it's still only a thought in my head at the moment. There are lots of hypnotherapy clients booked in this week. I think they are all trying to squeeze in before my holiday! What's planned for the rest of the week? Thursday I'm up at my Harley Street clinic. Some of the Glamour magazine team are booked in for sports massage as their weekly mileage increases in preparation for the Great Parks half marathon. Their muscles are starting to wonder what's hit them! This is my 'Pay it Forward' moment this week. I have asked them, rather than paying me, to make a donation to MIND - the charity they are running the half marathon for. MIND can then use the money to help many individuals with mental health issues. And the ripple goes on! Don't forget to watch out for my new advert in Sussex Living this month.
