March leaps
into the middle of this week, hopefully leaving those cold winter evenings heading off into our distant memories. Thoughts of spring lambs, Easter and clocks leaping forward bring us gradually out of our hibernation. So what have I been up to over the long winter evenings? I thought it was the perfect time to refresh my skills and add a few extra ones. Over the past two weeks I’ve been travelling up to central London to attend various courses. Last weekend I spent time training with Matt Roberts and his ‘Training with You’ team. This new programme is initially a six week programme where between 2 and 8 of you are trained in the comfort of your own home, once a week. All equipment for these sessions will be supplied for the one and a half hour sessions. The simplicity of the programme ensures that if you follow and stick to it, results are guaranteed. I have now put a button on my website which links you directly through to the Matt Roberts ‘Training with you’ website which is run in association with Conviviality. What else have I been up to? This weekend I went up to do my final Acupuncture training sessions with Bernard Nolan, his clients have included various well known premier football clubs, a number of well-known celebrities and he has appeared on GMTV, Trisha and other daytime TV programmes. It was great to learn from such a knowledgeable individual who made musculo-skeletal acupuncture, so understandable. I look forward to putting my skills into practice in a month’s time, once my case study has been submitted. Also on my weekly trip to the New York Coffee shop for my morning coffee in East Grinstead, I got to meet and talk briefly to the gorgeous Peter Andre; I can say he is as good looking in real life as he is on the TV! Happy Birthday Mr Andre, I hope you had a great day. Why have I chosen to add acupuncture to my list of skills? I have realised over the past 14 years of doing what I do, that having a holistic all round approach to people’s health and wellbeing means that not only can I treat their physical needs but I have the ability to work with them to modify their psychological barriers as well. I also feel it is extremely important not to try to go beyond my knowledge and to realise this when I need other professionals, such as the Physiotherapists that I work with at Head2ToePhysio in Crawley. I can honestly say that the most important thing to me is making someone’s life that little bit better using the skills I’ve picked up over the past 14 years. Listen out for me on Meridian 107fm the Local Community radio station in East Grinstead on Monday mornings and feel free to have a look on my website. Don’t forget to read all about my lambing experience in this month’s Sussex Living magazine. It’s Monday. Another week has drawn to a close and a new week opens, edging us even closer to March. It was great to wave goodbye to the flu last week and then start rebuilding my fitness levels for the Sussex Living Marathon weekend in May.
This morning, as most Monday mornings, I put Mark from Meridian 107 FM radio through some health and fitness analysis including testing his blood pressure and body composition while we were on air. Last week I had him on a spin bike on air. Who knows what I’ve got in store for him next week! If you’re not local you can listen via the web at meridianfm.com. After the radio show, my morning ritual is a soya Americano at Peter Andre’s New York Coffee Club in East Grinstead. It really sets me up for the day. And who knows, one day I might meet Peter or his brothers there. That really would be the cream on the coffee! I spent the weekend at one of Matt Roberts’ personal training studios in London. He and his team inducted me into his new ‘Training with you’ programme, run in association with Conviviality. It’s a tailored six-week programme delivered by an Associate Personal trainer, offering expert training and nutritional advice to enable you to get results. I am now one of these Matt Roberts ‘Associate Personal Trainers’ and will be travelling round Surrey, East and West Sussex delivering the programme. For more information please visit www.conviviality.com or www.mattroberts.co.uk This coming week I have several new hypnotherapy clients booked in and I’m looking forward to meeting them and helping them achieve their goals. It’s great to know that advertising in Sussex Living magazine is so effective. A local lady had cut out the advert and approached me to ask if she could have hypnotherapy. What else have I got planned for this week? Well this coming weekend I am back off to London again to complete my acupuncture training with Bernard Nolan at The Third Space in Soho. And even more importantly I am so looking forward to Pancake Day!! Well on Monday 13th Feb I have challenged Meridian 107 FM Breakfast Show presenter Mark Dodson to use a Spin Bike whilst presenting his show between 9 and 9:30. The Triangle leisure centre in Burgess Hill had kindly loaned me a spin bike, so there was no excuses for him. He took the challenge and succeeded in 30 mins on the spin bike, although I think he may feel it tomorrow. What challenge shall I set him next week on the show!! Hypnotherapy sessions are now up and running and my client base is steadily growing, after two weeks with a lack of voice due to catching the flu like everyone around me! Looking forward to the weekend of the 18th/19th Feb, I ‘m off to spend the weekend training with Matt Roberts and the Conviviality team in Matt’s Studio in the City. Hopefully by the end of the weekend they’ll be happy for me to work as a part of the team. Watch out in the National magazines and press for further details being launched soon, if you’ve not already seen it featured in the Telegraph. I spent the weekend at the start of the month learning acupuncture with Bernard Nolan for use with muscular-skeletal treatment e.g. massage. I have been practicing my needling techniques on willing volunteers and I’m looking forward to part two of the course on the 25th/26thFeb at The Third Space, Soho, London.
