Addictions Programme

I'm happy to send you more information on Hypnosis and Addictions.

Most of us at some point in our lives become addicted to something. How many times do you flick open your Facebook page to check for a comment or see what your friends are doing?

Addiction includes not only those key addictions from the past - drugs, gambling, alcohol or smoking. It comes in many disguises now, sneaking inside and taking hold of our usually well-organised thoughts.

Let’s look at a few of the modern day addictions we face.
  • Social Media is definitely high on the list. I’m as guilty as the next person of looking every time my phone bleeps. How many times in the past year have you missed something going on around you as you immerse yourself in the world wide web?
  • Sugar: another modern day nemesis. The more we have the more we crave.  It doesn’t matter that it rots your teeth and gives you diabetes.
  • Still around is the smoking addiction. It makes social outcasts of those who inhale the toxic mix and leaves them standing out in the rain.

Why do these modern day demons still have hold of our subconscious? Because we have lost our belief and our confidence to overcome them.

When clients come to see me for addiction, I encourage them to look at all the aspects of their life they already have control over. It may be family life, work, who knows. I take the skills they use to manage these life events and encourage their subconscious to do exactly the same with their addiction.

You will longer be dictated to by a potentially deadly habit or addiction.
Here is Sarah from Brighton’s story:

Sarah worked in the health industry and already had a personal trainer to help with her fitness levels. She found the only thing she still couldn’t control was her chocolate addiction and sugar craving, so we looked at her daily routine.

She didn’t have breakfast but had a protein shake instead. In this way she thought she had no sugar except for her morning tea! But look at the back of those packets. They may not have sugar listed but most will have sweeteners. And sweeteners help train the brain to like sweetness.

She’d cut out all carbs because that’s what she’d been advised to do. But complex carbohydrates help power our bodies throughout the day by slowly releasing their energy.

Drinking sufficient water was also a hit or miss affair with her.

So her body was being woken up with a sugar fix and then deprived of a fuel source to maintain itself and deprived of a regular fluid intake to wash the toxins away.

Over time she had developed a sugar addiction, which depleted her energy levels and put her at risk of diabetes, despite her fitness training.

What did we do?

In just one session we took hold of that sugar demon and sent it on its way, encouraging positive food habits using hypnosis. Sarah now starts the day with breakfast. She has healthy snacks already prepared to eat during the day and is amazed how much better she feels through drinking more water.

We reinforced the session with a follow up session but now sugar has lost its control over her daily routines and she has more energy now than before.

Fuel yourself for life not just for a quick fix.
