I’m sure with all this wintery weather a lot of you will be stripping off the layers of clothing you’ve been carrying around all day? I like to think of hypnotherapy as stripping away the layers of habits, learnt behaviours and other issues that have built up over time, years maybe in some of the cases I’ve seen. It’s almost like we keep placing another jumper on top of the one we’re wearing. So what do I mean? Well the best way to allow you to see what I mean is to take you through a case study. So let’s take stopping smoking as an example. The base layer of smoking to me is a deep-seated need from past behaviours. Some may have started to smoke at school or watched parents or relatives do the same. It has become that comfort layer close to our body we need (or think we need). Next comes the mid layer that keeps you warm, the fleece layer. This to me is like the comfort level, the one that makes you feel better. Getting out of an uncomfortable situation by ‘going for a cigarette’. Finally comes the insulation layer, the outer layer. This is just like you wearing a certain jacket if you know it’s going to get cold. You build up the behaviour of having a cigarette at certain points on a journey or at certain times of day. So how will I help to you to change the outfit you wear? I will use hypnotherapy with a perfect mix of my other skills to adjust each layer to a perfect outfit for you. I’ll help take those old and comfy base layers off and let your subconscious pick the one that’s the perfect fit for you. I’ll maybe show how the old one probably had a few holes in you hadn’t even spotted. Next, with a mix of hypnotherapy with counselling (or talking) as I prefer to know it, I will help you realise that the comfy layer was not the best fit and work with you to find a fit you would be proud to show off. This may be working on your self-esteem or self-confidence to deal with the situations that drove you to smoke. Finally we will deal with the outer layer. This uses my skills as hypnotherapist but also my previous training in health and sports therapy, helping you to changing the way you live your day-to-day life. So with smoking it may be just asking you to change a route you take to work, as many smokers I’ve talked to smoke at particular points on their journeys. Each layer is just as important as the next to deal with. And look at the rewards and health risks. Smoking 15-20 cigarettes apparently costs around £2500 per year, which could be an amazing holiday fund. Have you ever looked into what’s inside cigarettes to make them so addictive? I challenge you to search on the Internet and see if you would eat the raw ingredients if they were put in front of you and roll them up and smoke them. I am guessing not, I was surprised what was in them, not that nice! If you want to give up and stop sending your wages up in smoke, let me help YOU find that new non-smoking outfit. With all the colds and coughs around I think I should wish everyone a speedy return to full health and fitness. I was just sitting down and wondering where the last 10 days went. One minute it's Christmas Eve and the next everyone is talking about going back to work. I had good intentions to get lots done, good intentions unfortunately did not translate into actions until now! I love to be organised in my work, so I have spent the last two days updating my accounts, filing paperwork and clearing the build-up of post-it notes! Have you ever wondered what hypnotherapy may help with? Here's just a few of them, each day I'll add a few more the list. Being More Confident Be More Outgoing Blushing Confidence Increasing Self Esteem A lot of people wonder if they can be hypnotised? All I will say to you is - have you been driving and wondered how you got to a certain place without remembering the middle part of the journey? Your subconscious mind was fully in control, it's an amazing part of us which controls things we do without us having to be consciously aware of it! Do you wonder if hypnotherapy can help you? Drop me a line or call and ask me. I would love to hear from you. [email protected] 07801 941949 www.beckywells.com There can’t be many Brits who aren’t proud of what’s happened in the last two weeks!
I have held my breath, shed tears of joy and sadness and smiled so much I think I could have lit up a Stadium. Well how to top that, we are all wondering now? Let’s allow that feeling to spill up over the top of the stadium and engulf the whole UK. We proved that working together is easy. Foreigners to our shores have commented on the friendliness and ease of their visit to this great Isle. So how can I follow that! My plan for the year is to make a difference, if I make a positive difference to just one person’s life; I will have succeeded. If I can help more, then everyone I see is just as important as the first. What’s planned for this week? Firstly just remembering to take a breath and enjoy breathing in the pride of the nation. These individuals we’ve watched jump, swim, run and shoot are just like YOU or I! They have trained their bodies and minds to overcome obstacles and setbacks by using these challenges to fuel their motivation to succeed. Changing yourself from the inside may not always be easy without a guiding hand. Hypnotherapy acts as that guiding hand, it reminds you, you’ve done it before and you can do it again. It helps you to grab that favourite memory you’d forgotten about from your past and helps you put it in your pocket for a rainy day. So that’s what I’ve got planned for the week. I’m going to help some individuals find that forgotten memory and store it for that rainy day in the future. It’s been a great mixture of Hypnotherapy, Personal Training, and Sports Massage. I’ve had a steady stream of new clients throughout July that has kept me from sunbathing too much (or was that the lack of sun!). I’m just finished working with Glamour magazine, taking them through a 7 week Matt Roberts ‘Training with You’ programme. On the final week Matt Roberts joined us in Berkeley Square for circuits and the photo shoot. I will miss going up to there on a Tuesday evening and working with such a highly motivated team. Glamour magazine are running the Great Parks Run in Oct for MIND, please sponsor them here http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=GLAMOUR&isTeam=true Harley Street is really starting to pick up now as my profile page is up on the Harley Street Therapy Centres website here http://www.harleystreettherapycentre.co.uk/83/BeckyWells.html. I’m looking forward to meeting new clients up there this week. I had my first international client this week and still have ambitions to take my skills abroad. What’s planned for this week? Monday I’m off to Tulley’s Farm to attempt not to get lost in the Angry Birds maze. So if you don’t see any more blogs, send a search party. Tuesday I have an audition for a TV programme but it’s top secret and you’ll just have to wait and see what that’s all about. The rest of the week is filled with appointments, and maybe the odd time watching an hour or six of the Olympics! So you’ve got your bikinis, suntan cream and suitcase. Have you booked your ‘Training with You’ programme with me to get your beach body or set up a time to have hypnotherapy to build up that confidence or lose weight with the power of your subconscious? If not why not, give me a call, I promise I do not have a swinging pendulum or swirling eyes!! I invited ‘Jane Pattenden’ a friend and fellow trainer to talk about her new qualification in ‘Hypopresive Training’. She put Mark through his paces but having man flu didn’t help him. Thursday I went up to number 1 Harley Street to view a new therapy room to rent, which I am hoping to rent through the Harley Street Therapy centre. The room I have chosen has the most amazing view over the start of Harley Street and down to the Coutts building opposite. I am hoping it will be all up and running within a month. I am busy exploring all the amazing outcomes you can achieve from using hypnotherapy. It’s so inspiring to help someone take control back of their own future in such a positive way, that they feel completely in control of. What’s planned for this week? I’m off to the radio station Monday morning presuming I can get through all the road works in East Grinstead which is a challenge in itself! I’m looking forward to catching up with all my clients to hear about how much they’ve achieved since I last saw them. Has the year been full of every emotion possible? Do you find yourself saying '2012 will be the best yet'? If we had not experienced all these emotions: sadness, joy, loneliness, excitement, what would the year have been filled with? Do we not learn from every situation we encounter? So what have I learned in 2011 that will make me a stronger indivdual? I've learnt to: Dream - I had always dreamt that I would run my own business and 2011 has seen that first step up that metaphorical ladder. It's become a reality as I reduced my hours with my regular job to concentrate on building up my own business. Madness, some may say in this current climate. I know that with hard work I can achieve anything I want to. I just need to be honest to myself, and absorb all that comes my way. Opportunity - We make opportunities by learning to say 'why not'. At the start of this year I would never have dreamed that I would be featured in a magazine and then offered the chance to write for that magazine on a regular basis. I get to write about something I am passionate about 'Health and its psychological and physiological effects'. Who'd have thought the person who left school not understanding the meaning of a full stop would be doing this. Inspiration - I have been inspired by many people throughout this year. My family of course are my heart and soul. My parents, sister and close family never judging, always supoorting and protecting me. My four legged friends who listen unconditionally, who know when to comfort, and guarantee to make me smile, even on the gloomiest of days. My friends whether virtual (e.g. facebook) or those all around me, all inspiring me with their stories, strengths and experiences. Without each and every one, I would not have learnt a valuable lesson. You're wondering if I mean you personally? Yes I do! (and if you wonder how, just ask me). Time - Always having time to listen, always having time to make a difference to someone. Even if it's only to have a 5 minute chat with them, or something as simple as a smile or kind word to a stranger that passes you or who can't reach that tin on the shelf in a supermarket. It may feel like a small gesture to you but to them , it lets them know someone is thinking of them. How many times have you thought 'I wish I'd'...?, I challenge you from this moment forward to be able to say 'I'm glad I did....' So with this D.O. I.T. attitude I don't resolve to make 2012 the best year ever. I resolve to thrive on the challenges that are set by and for me. I resolve to say 'Why not!' at every opportunity. I resolve that if I can make life that little bit better by just being there, then I will. But most of all I resolve to be ME and to let every new experience enhance who I already am. Happy New Year to you, your friends and family. Becky x |
