![]() How many times have you sat in a meeting at the office and, in your mind, been on that last beach holiday? Or walking around a local supermarket, remembering the last time you picked up that certain food and reminiscing about a night you had with friends or family. When people ask me to describe how hypnotherapy feels, I usually describe a daydream-like state as one of my comparisons. In a deeply relaxed state, the mind can be allowed to focus on making sense of everything that is going on around us. Kids are great daydreamers. I am sure most of you remember playground games, where you lived in a castle or were being chased by a dragon. I am not saying you have to go back to that daydream childlike state, but wouldn’t it be great to be able to take yourself away from it all, for a short period of time, to sort out what’s going on in the subconscious mind. You can with hypnotherapy. Think of it like a giving yourself a bit of ‘ME’ time. Pure self indulgence. Why not pop along to my show at the Chequer Mead on the 24th of September where I’ll be talking about taking ‘A Weight off your Mind’ or come and see me at the Sussex Women’s show on the 27th and 28th of September. ![]() When you first hear the word ‘relationship’ you may automatically think I am talking about a lover, a partner or spouse. Relationships are more than this. We have relationships with all those around us, friends, family, the shopkeeper from the local shop that hands you your newspaper each day, and many others. If I asked you to create a circle with ten layers in it, each one numbered by how important you are compared to other people, I wonder where you would place yourself in comparison to them? Let me give you an example. You have been in a relationship for many years, so you would place yourself on the same circle as your partner. In a social situation you feel inferior to the opposite sex, reluctant to join in conversations, worried that everyone will laugh at some incorrect comment you may make. How about allowing hypnotherapy to help with gaining a whole new perspective on your social status? Some of the areas I have worked on with individuals are: Feeling an equal partner in a relationship Helping you to appreciate your own position in society. Everyone is important, no matter what or who they are. Helping you to open up, allowing other near them for future relationships, whether this is for friendship or a sexual relationship So let’s start today building that positive relationship you have with YOU first right now. Book in for my ‘A Weight of your Mind’ interactive weight loss seminar at the Chequer Mead Arts Centre in East Grinstead on the 24th of September. I’m giving a free group weight loss hypnotherapy session at the end of the event. http://www.beckywells.com/a-weight-off-your-mind-at-chequer-mead.html Or come and visit me at the Sussex Women’s Show, Brighton Racecourse on the 27th to 28th September. I will also be giving two 20 minute talks at this show. What’s stopping you from having a go? I know money can be a major factor, but is it your confidence stopping you take that leap? Someone once described their lack of confidence to me as a ‘brick wall’. They could hear what was going on over the other side of the wall but it was just a couple of layers of bricks too high to see over. So what I did, using hypnotherapy techniques, was to help them take off one layer of bricks at a time until they could climb over it. Then we rebuilt it, leaving those negative thoughts safely behind the wall as past memories. In this area we are extremely lucky in this area to have a company based in Brighton that specialises in amazing sports such as kitesurfing and scuba diving called http://www.planetkitesurfholidays.com.What this company does is tailor an adventure holiday for you. So if you want to kitesurf in the best locations around the world, they will arrange it all for you, from the flights to trips to making sure the less adventurous people in your group are catered for. They also have first hand experience of the locations which, as you know, is invaluable and a real time saver. So how about breaking down the metaphorical wall in front of you, taking a leap into the deep or learning how to fly without wings? So if you’d like a hand taking down some of those layers of bricks, why not give me a call? Have you ever seen the film ‘Patch Adams’, the Doctor who helped people with laughter? If you haven’t, I highly recommend it. It’s based on a true story and the real Patch Adams is still going strong and heads up the Gesundheit Institute in the USA Google it, it’s an amazing place and a really inspirational concept. In every job I’ve done, I always try to bring a sense of humour and by bringing people together with humour; you find that any job can be fun. I remember a version of Thriller reinacted down a hospital corridor in my previous job and God only knows the number of outfits I’ve changed into whilst teaching Aqua. I will continue to try and raise a smile and bring people together because that is what I do. Feel free to join me if you dare, who knows one day I might get to visit the Gesundheit Institute. I’m sure I’ll fit in rather well there, don’t you? Becky www.BeckyWells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com ![]() As William Wordsworth once said “… that best portion of a good man's life; his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.” How many of you still hold the door open for someone, or pop round for a chat with a friend or neighbour? An important part of what I do with my business is to support others. I love getting people involved in events, challenges and in being part of a team. Why do I do this? To watch a smile on someone’s face who thought that ‘thing’ might never happen, is worth its price in gold. So we’ve got around 28,000 days in our lifetime if we live to 75, let’s make as many as we can unique and build as many memories as possible…. I’ve just realised I’m over 14,000 days in, I’d better get busy. Becky www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com ![]() Yesterday was the first official day of spring, so time for a spring clean. I spent today turning out cupboards, drawers and anything that didn’t run away when I went near it. I found all those knickknacks I’d forgotten I’d got. Two diaries that are as blank as the day I bought them. Enough candles to light up a runway and pencils that if put together would form a fully-grown oak tree. Why do we buy these things? Are they like a comfort blanket, there just in case? I believe some definitely are, like a confidence booster. I want you to realise you are your own confidence. You create, you mould and you build your future. Individuals like myself just help by guiding you to find the real you. Becky www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com "Without winter, there can be no spring. Without mistakes, there can be no learning. Without doubts, there can be no faith. Without fears, there can be no courage. My mistakes, my fears and my doubts are my path to wisdom" ![]() Ever had one of those days when you do the most bizarre things? I spent several minutes trying to get into my car tonight only to realise that I was bleeping the wrong car. Mine was merrily opening, closing and flashing behind me. It’s a bit like that time when you go upstairs to get something, you’re distracted and after six attempts of going up and down stairs finally get what you went for 10 minutes ago. I know we’ve all done it, me frequently. I do start to wonder what I am going to be like when I am older, so if you see me wandering down the street with underwear on the outside (except if I am dressed as Wonder Woman (it happens)), please kindly send me back for adjustment. Hypnotherapy can be used for memory increase, a relaxed mind can absorb so much more when it’s not dealing with 101 things at the same time. Maybe I need to start self hypnotising myself now, to be prepared. So if you wear your undies as your outies by mistake, or wear holes in the carpet going up and down the stairs to get that one important thing ‘the whatsit’, you know, give me a call, you never know, we could end up on Eggheads, with such a vast amount of knowledge between us. Through the power of social internet sites, I regularly have simultaneous conversations with friends in Africa, Australia and the USA from the comfort of my own home. Knowing someone is just there to talk is sometimes the difference between days filled with silence, to a day feeling like you are part of a community, whether local or global. I am proud to say that the group of ladies I teach in Aqua make everyone feel part of a community. If one of them is off due to illness, someone will check and when one decides to move to another part of the world, a leaving party is always first on the agenda. You almost feel part of an extended family, nobody is judged, everyone is welcome and splashing is optional (unless you’re me apparently) Are you part of a group that wants to exercise but don’t know where? Why not speak to me about starting small exercise groups. It may not be as expensive as you think. I am a straight from the pot, no added ingredients Americano type of person. With just a little added sweetness of sugar. What you see is what you get with me. Are you a latte, with warm steamed milk? Relaxed, laid back and a perfect pick me up for a cold winter's morning. Or maybe you’re an espresso? To the point, strong and a dependable boost in the most stressful situation? Have you ever wonder what it would be like to be that other coffee? With the work that I do I can help you brew the perfect cup, so if you are that espresso type always rushing, I can give you an added extra in the form of relaxation to encourage you to take a step back and breath just for a moment. You’d be surprised how much more productive you could be. Or maybe you need that get up and go, so working with me, I’ll teach you how to add those perfect ingredients to leave you bursting with ideas to take control. Let me help you make that perfect cup of coffee for you. I couldn’t help but think that had the same person who I encountered in the shop today served me originally, I would never have bought anything in the shop and would have turned and walked right out. The first person I met was knowledgeable, made eye contact and made us feel like he was interested in helping us find the best product. The one we met today seemed abrupt, got annoyed with others whilst dealing with us and made you feel like you were in the way. Strangely enough, I also think he owned the shop. First impressions are so important as we make up our minds about things in the first few seconds. Lack of confidence can come across as abruptness; do you find it difficult to talk to people? Would you like to feel confident when talking to strangers? Why not think about hypnotherapy to help you conquer this hurdle? I can help you down that 100-metre straight and heading towards that finish line called ‘the future’. Becky www.beckywells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com |
