I may be a bit of clown but being funny has it serious points. Have you ever seen the film ‘Patch Adams’, the Doctor who helped people with laughter? If you haven’t, I highly recommend it. It’s based on a true story and the real Patch Adams is still going strong and heads up the Gesundheit Institute in the USA Google it, it’s an amazing place and a really inspirational concept. In every job I’ve done, I always try to bring a sense of humour and by bringing people together with humour; you find that any job can be fun. I remember a version of Thriller reinacted down a hospital corridor in my previous job and God only knows the number of outfits I’ve changed into whilst teaching Aqua. I will continue to try and raise a smile and bring people together because that is what I do. Feel free to join me if you dare, who knows one day I might get to visit the Gesundheit Institute. I’m sure I’ll fit in rather well there, don’t you? Becky www.BeckyWells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com

Mother’s Day is a chance for generations to get together, or maybe a time to reminisce about those no longer with us, who still hold a place in our hearts. I see a piece of each of my family in me. I have gained the cheekiness of my Dad and unfortunately his terrible one-liner sense of humour. From my Mum, that sense of caution. Maybe in the future I will even learn how to give the ‘LOOK’ that only a parent can give a child. Family and friends are like heart-beats. Each helps to form a solid life energy spurring us through dark days, and empty nights. Our friends may change over years, but our family is always there, listening and advising. As Alex Haley once said, “In every conceivable manner the family is a link to the past and a bridge to the future” Let’s enjoy that crossing. And even if we have to look back to remember those left behind on the bridge of time, remember we’re just showing them how the lessons they taught us will be carried in our hearts forever. "You’ve got to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you’ve got, and remember what you had. Always forgive but never forget. Learn from mistakes, but never regrets" ~ unknown What are your views on social media? Do you wake up in the morning and check what the weather is doing before opening the curtains? Or have a quick peek at Facebook to see what everyone is up to? I will admit I would probably be lost without most of these web sites. I love to catch up with friends around the world. How would I have ever even have found them without social media? What about all the things that we put on these sites? Only put on what you would say to someone in person. Stuff on the Internet remains there forever. I love to make people laugh, question things and enjoy life to the max. If one of my posts hits a note, enjoy and go with it, if it leads you to another question, feel free to ask me. So I will continue to Twitter, Facebook and blog. I hope you stay along for the journey. I may well drag you out for a trip some days, so watch out. Becky www.BeckyWells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com How’s everybody’s week been? I hope you’ve had a good one. As usual I’ve had a fun filled one, never quite knowing what’s round the corner type of week. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I promised myself a long time ago if I didn’t like something I’d change it. I also made a promise to myself that I would not judge what I hear from others. Sometimes I go and get things wrong but all I put that down to is a new life lesson. I like to think of my life as on a quite squiggly line, always going to get somewhere, sometimes taking the strangest route on the way. Isn’t that the fun of it though? Have a fantastic weekend. If you get the chance to do something different, grab it with both hands and go along for the ride, barefoot if you like. So what if you get muddy feet? Becky www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com Sitting trying to write this blog and wondering where does time go? How many days do we waste busily doing nothing? Or is it a waste? Isn’t that time pottering or going for a walk, just as important as the high paced working life? Just think about some of the most famous discoveries and how they were made. Sir Isaac Newton for example and the famous apple incident. Some of our greatest ideas come to us when we’re busily minding our own business. So take time out and let the world pass by, who knows what you might discover? Becky www.BeckyWells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com After seeing a couple of clients today, it reminded me why I think I am good at what I do. With all my clients, whether they are hypnotherapy, Personal Training or sports massage clients, I try to put myself in their shoes, so to speak. No I don’t have some strange foot fetish before you start to wonder, I mean in the metaphorical sense. Let’s take, for example, a highly skilled executive that comes to see me. When I first met him he came across as bold, confident and sometimes quite abrupt. What I might find underneath is an unconfident introvert inside an extrovert shell. What I try to do with my skills is unravel the layers of protection that have been built up, a bit like an onion with its outer layer thickened by the environment. I help take the layers off one by one until I reach the centre, then, and almost as important, I help them to use those layers to make something even better. So if you would like a hand unpeeling that onion, I have the utensils to give you a hand. I’ll even give you a tissue if it makes your eyes water. As we know teardrops are made of 1% water A little bit of sunshine and you just feel so much better. What can be better than going for a walk in the countryside with the sun on your face and wildlife appearing from behind every tree? There is something quite magical about a large deer suddenly running from behind a tree nearby then stopping to look back at you, just to check, before heading off further into the woods. If you stop for long enough you suddenly notice that that branch is made up of hundreds of shades of browns and other colours. As you do this you forget momentarily to remember about all those other things that were so important before. When I’m doing hypnotherapy, clients describe that point when they come out of the trance-like state as the same feeling. What I try to do, as I build up the sessions, is make this a feeling they can access whenever they need to. So if you can’t go out and stare at tree for hours, why not try hypnotherapy instead? Becky www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com So are you one of these people that sleep soundly or are you up and down all night, unable to sleep soundly? The clients I’ve been working with report that the more they think about trying to sleep, they more they can’t sleep. I use hypnotherapy to teach relaxation techniques to use whilst nodding off but also encourage them to forget about trying to sleep! I suggest maybe reading a book, writing down the thought in a notebook or diary. You get what you focus on so if you focus on not being able to sleep, then… So if you want to sleep more than 40 winks or as soundly as a baby why give hypnotherapy a try? Becky www.beckywells.com becky@beckywells.com 07801 941949 May sleep envelop you as a bed sheet floating gently down, tickling your skin and removing every worry. Reminding you to consider only this moment. Yesterday was the first official day of spring, so time for a spring clean. I spent today turning out cupboards, drawers and anything that didn’t run away when I went near it. I found all those knickknacks I’d forgotten I’d got. Two diaries that are as blank as the day I bought them. Enough candles to light up a runway and pencils that if put together would form a fully-grown oak tree. Why do we buy these things? Are they like a comfort blanket, there just in case? I believe some definitely are, like a confidence booster. I want you to realise you are your own confidence. You create, you mould and you build your future. Individuals like myself just help by guiding you to find the real you. Becky www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com "Without winter, there can be no spring. Without mistakes, there can be no learning. Without doubts, there can be no faith. Without fears, there can be no courage. My mistakes, my fears and my doubts are my path to wisdom" Don’t you just love days off where you end up being able to catching up with friends you haven’t seen in ages? I had kept today free to do just that. I’d thought about going to Portsmouth but in the end, I went out on a fresh breezy walk across Rusper from my friends place with the dogs. Walking across the hills in Rusper, you feel the power of nature as it heads down on its way from the North Downs. It almost feels like the wind is stealing your breath as it rushes past. We are always being told to keep fit, so why not use the free green gym around us to its full advantage? My favourite location when doing personal training for people is outside and in all weather conditions. Rain, wind and snow don’t stop play in Bec’s training schedule. Do you want to get out and get fit? Why not give me a call and ask me about how to ‘fit in outside’. If a group of you want to train together, that’s no problem either.
