Today I started to wonder how many of the things we do in our lives are habits, either bad or good, so I tried to take a mental note of all the things I did throughout the day.
When I wake up in the morning I have got into the habit of looking at my mobile phone to see what the weather’s like (why don’t I look out the window like I used to?). I also see what the world’s been up to as I slept. I wonder if it actually said that the world was ending in an hour, whether I’d believe it and stay in bed for an extra hour so as to not waste my energy getting dressed.
We have become so reliant on technology these days and it must affect our habits. If our sat nav says don’t go a certain way, we believe it and change direction.
I like to think of hypnotherapy as a form of sat nav. You listen and observe, take in the information and then change direction to a more positive direction for you, creating a new habit for the future.
