What did you want to be when you were younger? Did you have ambitions to be an astronaut or the next member of the Beatles, Bros or the Spice Girls? I always wanted to be in the Police but, due to a back injury, that never happened. If I could have had any job in the world I would probably have chosen to be a vet working with wild exotic animals, or a forensic pathologist. Both very different jobs you may think. The connection between them is about solving a mystery through facts and links because you cannot ask the subject any questions. I would say I have a good intuition for underlying problems. Most of the massage clients I treat know I have probably already figured out where to massage before they’ve told me the sore spot. And I’ve probably found several other places as well. It’s the same with hypnotherapy and counselling skills. It’s about picking up on those facts and feelings between the words, which usually helps me to solve problems. So if you didn’t get to do your dream job there is often an opportunity to get involved as a volunteer. If you need a boost to make that phone call or write that email, you only have to book in for a session with me to make that start. Who knows? The next time you look at my blog, you may be looking back saying ‘I did it’. Shut your eyes now and just imagine yourself doing whatever it is you’d like to do, just for 5 minutes. Have a great week. For more information CLICK For bookings CLICK Becky www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com

I imagine a fair few people will have been sharing cards, flowers and token gifts with loved ones this Valentine’s Day. We wanted to make it a little bit special today for someone less fortunate. Local school kids made Valentine’s cards for me with heartfelt messages inside. So how to distribute them? Myself and a couple of friends headed down to Brighton and with the help of Domino’s Pizzas we set out to deliver pizza and a card to random homeless people and also treats for their canine companions. Each was gratefully and humbly received. We were presented with a flower by one, and another told us it was the first Valentine’s card he had ever received. They all surprised us by how hungrily they took the pizza out of the box and the gratitude they showed to us as pizza delivery people. That will stay in my mind for a very long time. Do you wake up in the morning and that sinking feeling sets in as you realise that you have to go to work? Does your life feel a bit like a treadmill stuck on a slow constant speed never moving forward but you are unable to get off? Do you feel that it’s never going to change? My question to you is why? I spent the first ten years of my life walking to the office, sitting down at a desk, filing in paperwork then heading back home tired and drained. So what did I do about it? My initial idea was to transform a hobby, which was fitness, into a part time career around my work. 15 years down the line I have transformed almost like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. I now have a growing business in an area of work that I love, helping people. Yes I had to work hard to get where I am today, sometimes longer hours than when I worked in an office, but the difference was I loved what I was doing. So it’s never seemed like a chore. If you want help to transform into that amazing butterfly, call me and let me help ‘transform YOU’ Becky www.beckywells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com Have you ever stood in the kitchen, opened up the cupboards and looked at the tins, packets, jars, bottles and other ingredients on the shelves? I relate this to helping my clients look inside their subconscious cupboard. By taking some of the ingredients out one by one and examining the packaging, we can check their “use by” dates to see which need discarding. The ingredients that are left are then manipulated to create a perfect dish for my client’s life. You could call it life a la carte. Becky www.beckywells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com I love the fact that when I am not working I have a real variety of interests to keep me entertained. I love to work and learn about people, I guess I am a real people watcher, constantly observing the world. So when the chance came up to learn how to make a digital camera act more like the old film cameras I jumped at it. I am lucky I have a friend who is the most amazing photographer and has worked with a number of famous individuals. She has agreed to teach me. Have a look at her photography on her website www.merrymichau.com So why can photography help me in my work? To me it’s like putting the world on freeze frame in front of you and capturing the emotions. You can look into the eyes (they say they are portals to the souls) and see that real person staring back. Watch this space for my future attempts; I fear I may have a lot of black screens before I start posting pictures. Have a hobby that you’d like to take up but maybe not the fitness, confidence or an injury that is preventing you starting? Give me a call to see how I can help. Becky www.BeckyWells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com Such a small word, but it can make a huge difference to how you go about your daily life. For example “if I go out and talk to that chairman of the local women’s group, I may create a whole new network of links”. In comparison to “When I go and see the Chairman, I will form new networks”. The self-doubting “if” is like a little nagging gremlin on your shoulder saying ‘what if they don’t like me; what if I can’t answer the questions they throw at me?’. I always go with the ”when”. ‘When’ I go to that meeting I know that I have a great foundation of knowledge from inspirational sources. I do not know everything and I know I am not expected to. I like my head to be small enough to still fit through a doorway. I also go there expecting to absorb more information from those I meet to make me an even better therapist. In the career I have chosen I always expect to learn, and I don’t mean from textbooks or courses. Take time to observe the people you work with, my job is never going to be 9-5 and to be honest. I’d have no idea what to do with my spare time if that was the case. Be a listener… be a ‘When’ person… not an ‘if’ person. I look forward to bumping into you ‘When’ our paths cross because I know they will. We all pile out of the train, follow a set route down the platform, back down another set of steps, down the escalators and into a shuttle which sees us doing this all in reverse. If your tube stop is suddenly closed, you see people’s anxiety levels rise before they head off on another, yet untested, route. A bit like life really? We go to school until 16 or 18, then maybe higher education or straight into work. How can most of us know, when we choose our life’s destiny at 16, what we really want to do? Some may, but a lot of people I speak to say “I trained and worked in this job for 20 years or more”. 'Are you happy' will be my next question? 'No' is quite frequently the answer. Now in 'Bugs Life', he dares to live his dream and head off to the unknown. Now I am not saying give up safety or security. What I am saying is go and explore other options. Maybe you’re that person with low self esteem that wants to do a job that requires you to stand up and be heard or wants to lose weight to take up that dream hobby or holiday location. Hypnotherapy allows you, in a safe and secure environment, to explore what your inner self is really like, and unlocks newfound exciting parts of you, that have been subdued by your conscious mind. You will probably find, like most of my clients, they have some great conversations with yourself under hypnosis. So if you want a hand stepping of the treadmill of life, even if you use it just as form of relaxation from your everyday life, call me. You never know, you might find like many, that you open yourself up to a whole new career, I did. Take a leaf out of Flik’s book from Bug’s life. Who knows, the world may discover it’s next Picasso, Hugh Grant or Raymond Blanc just by you allowing it a glimpse into the real you. Becky For more information CLICK For bookings CLICK www.beckywells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the only one who'll decide where you'll go. I was sitting watching the TV this evening and was struck by the number of shows that put pressure on the contestants to just go one more round further. ‘Exploiting people’s emotions’ I hear some of you say! ‘Isn’t that just like life’, I hear others say. It got me thinking about how many times in life we take these types of risk anyway. A lot of the time I would guess! How many times have you bought something unseen from the Internet because the offer seems so good, or maybe you’ve changed careers from a well-paid job to a voluntary or low income job? Was it a risk? Maybe? Yes? Probably? But does this stop you? I decided several years ago that life is worth living to its fullest. When I was 18 I had major surgery on my back, which prevented me from doing what I thought was my dream job. Once I’d got myself back to full fitness, both physically and mentally, I realised I could do anything I like, if I put my mind to it. I also chose to resign from a well-paid government job and take up a job that paid half what I was getting. Now after several years, I have the most amazing career and I get to do something I love, helping others. Ten to fifteen years ago therapy was seen as something strange and maybe to some it still is. Personally I would never be afraid of going to see a therapist if I had worries. In fact the hypnotherapy register I belong to actively encourages its members to have regular sessions with other therapists. If you’re sitting there juggling two metaphorical boxes in front of you, why not give me a call to see if I can help you. In fact how many of you actually made any? Were your resolutions to further yourself or to help others? I was just looking through comments on Facebook this weekend. A lot of people are quick to judge and very few offer alternative solutions. Have you ever thought about being part of the answer rather than leaving it to someone else. This weekend I watched a ‘YouTube’ video about a group of guys who whilst drinking at a bar used the offer of a beer and pizza to feed the homeless on the beach. They still got to enjoy their afternoon and also spread kindness to the less fortunate. I know in February a group are going to pack bags and take them out to the homeless in London. But my challenge to you is for the next time you walk past a homeless person. Just remember they are human beings, they just lost their way at some point, and don’t pity them, they don’t want this. If you can help, maybe by leaving them one of your unused blankets or a food parcel, you’d be surprised what a difference you could make. It’s turning wintery soon, that extra blanket or food might just make those freezing temperatures a little more bearable! As the saying goes “Be the change you want to see in the world.”- Gandhi So my resolution is to be part of the change, I want to be there as it grows from this small acorn to a mighty oak! Becky www.BeckyWells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net 07801 941949 Becky@beckywells.com Seven days have already passed of this New Year. How many of you have already been tempted by one of the seven deadly sins? Pride has been called the sin from which all the others arise. Pride may also be known as Vanity. Were you offered help but your pride stopped you accepting it? Hypnotherapy for pride may help develop a personal pride that is needed in building up self-image, self-confidence and the ability to allow others to help whilst still feeling in control. Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation. Have you watched other people and been envious of all that they are doing? Do you forget all the amazing stuff that you actually achieved yourself? Again with hypnotherapy for envy, it may be that one of the sessions is to do with self-esteem, allowing the individual’s subconscious mind to realise all the things it already has. Gluttony is a desire to consume more than one requires. Do you eat just because it’s in front of you, feel full and carry on eating? There are many ways of working with food issues using hypnotherapy. We look at past events which have lead to the food issues, to some of my clients favorite ones, avoiding sweet stuff completely. Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body. Again there are many ways hypnotherapy may help with all sexual issues such as teaching relaxation techniques to preventing over excitement. Anger also known as Wrath. Hypnotherapy can be used in many situations, from teaching someone how to stay in control using relaxation techniques. A good example of this is road rage, being able to control your temper instead of getting angry at another driver or pedestrian. Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of spiritual gain. Are you always trying to gain that extra dollar no matter what the consequences? Hypnotherapy can help you to learn to slow down and allows others to gain. Have you ever helped someone and later found out they will help you in the future more than you can ever imagine That older person in the street, might just be the Mother or Father of someone who will change your life because you did a good deed with no material gain. Again it may be using hypnotherapy to help you gain the confidence to make that connection. Sloth or extreme laziness is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. If you lack confidence this can come across as laziness or maybe fear of the unknown. Hypnotherapy may help with fear, anxiety, and confidence issues. Hypnotherapy is used for so many reasons, it really isn’t some form of medieval magic. It just helps the conscious mind to relax and allow the amazing subconscious mind to work at its best. Why not give me a call to book that first session. I am currently based in Harley Street London and Sussex. Let’s start to break down those deadly sins.
