Tonight I am heading off to Matilda’s party (www.walkingmatildausa.com), to dance the night away in support of this young girl who needs an operation which the NHS are unable to fund. I am even wearing a dress, as I thought I wouldn’t get away with calling jeans and a polo shirt, smart. So I have a black dress and black shoes with no heels to save the embarrassment of breaking my neck, trying to wear heels. It’s great to get dressed up and I love to meet new people, you find out the most amazing things about individuals sometimes. Who knows what stories I will come back with. Going out with friends doesn’t have to be expensive; it can be as simple as packing a picnic and heading to a local park. Fresh air, yes I do mean even in the cold weather (that’s what coats, hats and gloves were invented for). Your own favourite foods and friends are a perfect ingredients for fun. Now I can’t teach you to dance, but I can help to take you in a positive direction if your confidence prevents you from suggesting such as event. In Sussex we have the most amazing countryside, Winnie the Pooh country is just on our doorstep, in the form of the Ashdown Forest. A magic place which if you take a book along allows you to feel like you’re part of the story. Unleash the world around you and give me a call. I’m just off to pin Eyeore's tail back on again. Too much talking last week, now I’m losing my voice. It’s so important to remember one’s own advice sometimes and take a ‘time out’. Put down the phones, pack away the computers and allow yourself some ‘me time’. I am as guilty as everyone else of picking up the phone to check, just in case! Tonight I can’t I’ve left it in Tinsley Green, and do I miss it? No I don’t! There are so many ways you can just enjoy the moment. Take a walk in the country with your phone turned off, meditate, or book in for a hypnotherapy relaxation session with me. Even if you don’t feel you need hypnotherapy for anything in particular, that 30 minute time out is so refreshing. Imagine being able to go into a meeting focused, full of energy and refreshed. Hypnotherapy lunchtime power booster, now there’s an idea. If you want to take your lunch break imagining you’re on a beach, or relaxing in a hammock planning your next strategy, give me a call and I’ll give you a lift up to that perfect place to relax for you. Becky www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com A rainy Sunday afternoon is a perfect time to relax and watch the afternoon movies on TV. Our minds are quite amazing pieces of equipment. I noticed whilst watching the films this afternoon, that my subconscious mind was busy suggesting to itself what it would do in a similar situation. I believe hypnotherapy works in the same way, you preoccupy the conscious mind using relaxation and while it’s distracted, allow the subconscious to open up and absorb beneficial information. What can hypnotherapy help with? What about habits. What about personal and business confidence? The answer is yes for these and many other issues. Do you have to believe in hypnotherapy for it to work? No. It can still work, the only important thing I will establish is that the client is having hypnotherapy for themselves and not to please someone else. So if you’d like to take a time out with beneficial effects, give me a call and I can talk to you ‘while you were sleeping’. Becky www.beckywells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com I love the fact that when I am not working I have a real variety of interests to keep me entertained. I love to work and learn about people, I guess I am a real people watcher, constantly observing the world. So when the chance came up to learn how to make a digital camera act more like the old film cameras I jumped at it. I am lucky I have a friend who is the most amazing photographer and has worked with a number of famous individuals. She has agreed to teach me. Have a look at her photography on her website www.merrymichau.com So why can photography help me in my work? To me it’s like putting the world on freeze frame in front of you and capturing the emotions. You can look into the eyes (they say they are portals to the souls) and see that real person staring back. Watch this space for my future attempts; I fear I may have a lot of black screens before I start posting pictures. Have a hobby that you’d like to take up but maybe not the fitness, confidence or an injury that is preventing you starting? Give me a call to see how I can help. Becky www.BeckyWells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com Today I went back to my fitness roots as I had booked myself on a group fitness-training course. If I had been told before that I could rest as much as I need I’d never have believed you could run a class like this and still feel like you’ve had the best workout ever. So what is this course? It was called ‘Metabolic effect’ training. To put it in a nutshell it focuses on changing the fat-burning hormonal response to exercise and diet. It does this by changing hormones. Rather than simply eating less or exercising more, the body naturally regulates fat burning, appetite, and mood so that motivation for exercise is enhanced while cravings for food are reduced. So how did I survive a whole day of exercise? Well I am pretty sure every magazine editor and team I’ve ever worked with, and all the Personal Training clients I have ever put through mountain climbers, squats and lunges, would be pleased to learn that I have done a few hundred of them today. It got to the point towards the end of the day when I was wondering if I could extend the rest time until the following Sunday. So watch out friends, I will be looking for willing volunteers to test this out on soon. So if you see me coming you might want to hide! Anyway I’m off to find a box or two of radox to soak in, as I have a feeling I may need a Zimmer frame to move tomorrow. To be continued …. Becky www.beckywells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com I felt a bit like the person from that old TV series ‘Butterflies’ today. Moving cars on and off the drive. Drive one car to one place then get a lift to move another one. But the end result is I have a newer car than I started with, a car I absolutely love. I have no idea where the day went though. I started out at 9:30 this morning playing car draughts and finished around 3:30. So much for my plan to take him out for a lovely drive today. Oh well, there's always next week. How do you like to spend your days off? Playing sports? Going out to theatres? Maybe you’d like to take up a new hobby but don’t have the confidence to do so. Give me a call I may be able to help in that department. Anyway I’m off to carry on driving like ‘Miss Daisy’ in my new car. I’ve called him Rory. I look forward to hearing all about your hobbies and leisure pastimes. There are a lot of medical conditions that silently hide within us, until they escape out with a potential fatal effect one day. Oh yes but I’m fine I hear you say. Let’s take high blood pressure for example. You can’t join most gyms without having a reading. Doctors’ surgeries and many pharmacies offer regular checks for you. ‘But it’s only high blood pressure’. I wonder if you know that high blood pressure is known as “the silent killer”. It increases your risk of having cardiovascular problems such as strokes, heart attacks or other serious cardiac conditions. So what’s this got to do with what I do in my life? For many years now I have worked with people who have come to me to due to an increased blood pressure reading and other cardiac related conditions. They are referred by their GPs to me for moderate exercise, which has been proven to reduce blood pressure. More recently I have been working with individuals using hypnotherapy. How can hypnotherapy help? It can teach you the art of relaxation. Making you able to stay calm and in control of a situation just by using the power of your own breath. Sometimes I feel like I should start lunchtime hypno-bytes, lunchtime hypnotherapy for high-powered executives in Central London. Almost like a power nap. Their afternoon deals would benefit from a refreshed subconscious mind. So have your blood pressure checked regularly and listen to the advice from the professionals. If your employer, doctor’s surgery or local gym offers you a health check make use of the service. It might just save your life. For information on hypnotherapy, personal training or sports massage therapy give me a call. I wonder how many of you got up and then decided to stay in your PJs or onesies! I know I seriously considered it but I decided that I should probably go and clear our driveway, to make it easier to get off it tomorrow morning. Do you ever take a day off just to relax, switching off your computers, iPhones and iPads? I am guessing probably not. I would have to say no as well. Modern technology fuels our desire to know all that’s going on around us. I challenge you one day next week to switch them off for at least a few hours and go back to the old fashioned way of relaxation. Watch your favourite movie without clicking on your screen, sit and stare at a log burning fire if you have one or pick that book up you’ve been meaning to read for ages. Hypnotherapy relies on you being relaxed. I ask new clients to meet me for a chat or a coffee before booking an appointment if possible. I want my clients to be confident and comfortable from their first session of hypnotherapy. You will never find me trying to hard sell my hypnotherapy or PT skills, most of my clients are because of referral from others, which to me is the way I like it to be. I can just book you in for a session of relaxation hypnotherapy if you just wanted to try it but didn’t feel there is anything you need help with. You’ll be surprised how uncluttering your mind gives you a deep sense of relaxation. A relaxed mind is just so much more productive, it’s just like blowing a few cobwebs out! So if you want to spend a session with me being whisked to a relaxation place in your mind for ½ hour or so, give me a call or drop me a line. Becky www.beckywells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net becky@beckywells.com +44 7801 941949 How many times have you enjoyed a meal so much that you finished your plate even though you were full up. An uncomfortable feeling creeps up on you and you still have to take that one extra mouthful. We’ve all done it. I did it tonight. I’m feeling like a Buddha-shaped girl. Many people have a compulsion to over eat. It’s not something they can help. Actually in most cases it’s just a habit that has become out of control due to any number of reasons. Maybe that’s you. So if I asked you what caused your excessive eating you might say “I do it when I am upset”, “It started when I retired”, “When I lost my job” or another life changing and upsetting event. Hypnotherapy allows you to access your own subconscious mind where your bad habits and your bad life experiences are stored. Working with your hypnotherapist these issues are examined and demystified. In a safe environment, you are taught to relax and allow your subconscious mind to open up and make a positive effect on your future behavior around food. So put down that knife and fork, take a few deep breaths and give me a call. Hypnotherapy is an ancient, safe and effective tool that helps you use the power of your subconscious mind to enhance your conscious daily life. It can soothe fears, mend uncomfortable thoughts and bring you closer to the person you want to be and CAN be. Becky www.BeckyWells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com Do you have a special person in your life? Are you already preparing for next month’s special day? I imagine the shops are already stocked full of the cards! According to statistics the number of people getting married for the first time in their 40s has double in the first few years. Are we all to busy enjoying life? I’m heading at a rapid speed towards that milestone, I’m going to make the most of my 38/39th year before the BIG 40 bites me on the bum next year. I was sitting drink coffee this morning at my favourite coffee shop haunt in East Grinstead quietly reading my magazine. The hustle and bustle of people coming and going is fascinating to me. Coffee shops like this one are hubs. You have such an amazing mix of people passing through even in the hour I’d been sitting there. You have the family who start their day with a coffee before heading off to do battle with the shops. The young mums meeting up to share there stories about what’s been going and also more importantly a time for them to share problems with a friendly ear. The businessmen and women who pop in for a quick shot of coffee to boost them before a day of marketing, selling or what ever business they are involved in. There is always a warm welcoming feeling and the owner always makes you feel welcome. I have to say I do have to urge to have a go in the Play area some days! Are you a grab and go type of person, or do you sit and put the world to rights over you soy cappuccino or latte? You’ll never feel lonely in this coffee shop. You never know you might just start up a conversation with Mr or Miss Right if you’re single! Grab a coffee, a tea or a hot chocolate. It’s for me something that starts my week off on the right foot before the real fun begins. You never know you might just bump into me! If you’re not confident enough to just walk into a coffee shop, why not contact me and see how I can help build your self esteem up!
