![]() What an amazing night last night. Two hundred people got together to raise money for a little girl who needs an operation in the US. Organised by a godmother of Matilda, the ball was a fantastic night out. Live auctions of gifts money just can’t buy, raffles and photo-booths. All with one thing in common, they were donating their time and skills to www.walkingmatildausa.com Did we all know Matilda? I found out a lot of us did not before hearing about the events, but we had all been touched by the story and wanted to help. Would you consider helping a complete stranger? I can highly recommend it, it’s so rewarding. It doesn’t always have to cost anything, a friendly smile, a hug even the use of a friendly ear. I know some will not understand why I do it. I know that some of you have already got involved. I’ve set up a new Facebook page ‘Pay it Forward Sussex’, let’s see how far these ripples from the South can go. “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

![]() I imagine a fair few people will have been sharing cards, flowers and token gifts with loved ones this Valentine’s Day. We wanted to make it a little bit special today for someone less fortunate. Local school kids made Valentine’s cards for me with heartfelt messages inside. So how to distribute them? Myself and a couple of friends headed down to Brighton and with the help of Domino’s Pizzas we set out to deliver pizza and a card to random homeless people and also treats for their canine companions. Each was gratefully and humbly received. We were presented with a flower by one, and another told us it was the first Valentine’s card he had ever received. They all surprised us by how hungrily they took the pizza out of the box and the gratitude they showed to us as pizza delivery people. That will stay in my mind for a very long time. ![]() On this blustery January day, we see that we are being made to change a word on a fruit juice packet, probably because a committee in Europe thought it would be fun to change it. Who actually cares whether it says ‘made with’ or ‘made from’ except for the people who probably made an absolute fortune doing a 2-year study into the use of the word? Who would have actually taken any notice of it or cared? Why do we not commit our energy to making positive change to people’s long term lives, helping them to change how they feel about their community, their country and their world? What would I like to change if I was in politics? Health and wellbeing, not a study into the number of bubbles from a fizzy drinks bottle that end up tickling your nose but a study into how our communities already (yes I said already) have amazing untapped networks which, if promoted and encouraged to grow, can create so much happiness, health and well being. Funnily enough, just like the old days. Have you ever noticed how on snowy days it’s so much easier to talk to people on the street and ‘break the ice’ so to speak? People don’t want or need to be told what to do, look at all the ‘Pay it Forward’s and random acts of kindness that happen in communities. They don’t have a higher authority setting guidelines, they just put a request out to the local community and they come together, every creed, age, religion working together because they know it will make a lasting positive influence on the people’s hearts and lives that they touch. So if a politician is allowed to listen and act on the local community, change the world with kindness and make the world a healthier place for body and mind, then I’m in. If it’s to decide if the colour red is really red, then I’m washing my hair! Have you made a difference with kindness? Do you want too? I do and I am, as often as I can. Let me know on my website www.payitforwarduk.net Have a great day Becky For more information CLICK For bookings CLICK www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 [email protected] ![]() How many of you have stuck to your New Years resolutions? In fact how many of you actually made any? Were your resolutions to further yourself or to help others? I was just looking through comments on Facebook this weekend. A lot of people are quick to judge and very few offer alternative solutions. Have you ever thought about being part of the answer rather than leaving it to someone else. This weekend I watched a ‘YouTube’ video about a group of guys who whilst drinking at a bar used the offer of a beer and pizza to feed the homeless on the beach. They still got to enjoy their afternoon and also spread kindness to the less fortunate. I know in February a group are going to pack bags and take them out to the homeless in London. But my challenge to you is for the next time you walk past a homeless person. Just remember they are human beings, they just lost their way at some point, and don’t pity them, they don’t want this. If you can help, maybe by leaving them one of your unused blankets or a food parcel, you’d be surprised what a difference you could make. It’s turning wintery soon, that extra blanket or food might just make those freezing temperatures a little more bearable! As the saying goes “Be the change you want to see in the world.”- Gandhi So my resolution is to be part of the change, I want to be there as it grows from this small acorn to a mighty oak! Becky www.BeckyWells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net 07801 941949 [email protected] ![]() Today I’ve been putting the West Sussex County Times reporters through their exercise paces using Matt Roberts ‘Training with You’ programme. A great team who you can tell all have a passion for local stories and work well as a team. Which is lucky considering the amount of banter that flies between them! You can watch the video of some of their antics http://www.wscountytimes.co.uk/news/health/county-times-reporters-get-into-shape-1-4669558 Do you ever stop and ask your friends and family how they are? Or do you off-load all your problems and then run. It’s so important to listen as well. Have you ever thought that the person you are pouring out all your problems to, may be having the same problems? I am lucky that I have a great group of friends who do. The New Year’s been off to a flying start for me. Lots of appointments are building up in my diary. Including a whole mixture of hypnotherapy, personal training and massage. Some people ask me why I choose to do those three together. It seems to me to be the perfect mix. I can take someone from an injury, train them and then use hypnotherapy to help overcome any underlying issues. So I hope your year is going well so far. Don’t forget, as I’ve said before, help everyone you are able to. You never know where that connection will lead you. The Pay it Forward thought for today from the Pay it Forward App “Do something kind for yourself and invite a friend to join you” Let’s make kindness the norm, not the exception. Becky [email protected] 07801 941949 www.BeckyWells.com / www.payitforwarduk.net ![]() Have you ever dreamed of being able to dip your hand in that pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, or heading through a field of clover and finding the elusive four leaved one? How many of you realise that a pot of gold or a four leaved clover are actually part of you already? Now you may be wondering what I mean by this. You already own the most amazing gifts called your heart and your brain. These two resources can lead you wherever you desire to go. You just need to listen to them. So let me give you an example. Have you ever been walking round a supermarket and noticed a person struggling to reach something high up? Did you instinctively go over to help? Or did you just carry on because you were in a rush or too nervous to offer to help in case they were offended? Every time I would offer to help. The worst they can say to me is 'no'. The best is to start a conversation with someone who may not have spoken to anyone all day and was beginning to wonder if anyone cared. You can make a difference to someone with such a small act of kindness. And it makes you feel good. It empowers you to know that you are a catalyst to a positive future for yourself and whoever steps in your rainbow. I dare you tomorrow to make a difference to a stranger. Pay it forward www.payitforwarduk.com Becky Wells 07801 941949 [email protected] www.BeckyWells.com ![]() Seven days have already passed of this New Year. How many of you have already been tempted by one of the seven deadly sins? Pride has been called the sin from which all the others arise. Pride may also be known as Vanity. Were you offered help but your pride stopped you accepting it? Hypnotherapy for pride may help develop a personal pride that is needed in building up self-image, self-confidence and the ability to allow others to help whilst still feeling in control. Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation. Have you watched other people and been envious of all that they are doing? Do you forget all the amazing stuff that you actually achieved yourself? Again with hypnotherapy for envy, it may be that one of the sessions is to do with self-esteem, allowing the individual’s subconscious mind to realise all the things it already has. Gluttony is a desire to consume more than one requires. Do you eat just because it’s in front of you, feel full and carry on eating? There are many ways of working with food issues using hypnotherapy. We look at past events which have lead to the food issues, to some of my clients favorite ones, avoiding sweet stuff completely. Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body. Again there are many ways hypnotherapy may help with all sexual issues such as teaching relaxation techniques to preventing over excitement. Anger also known as Wrath. Hypnotherapy can be used in many situations, from teaching someone how to stay in control using relaxation techniques. A good example of this is road rage, being able to control your temper instead of getting angry at another driver or pedestrian. Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of spiritual gain. Are you always trying to gain that extra dollar no matter what the consequences? Hypnotherapy can help you to learn to slow down and allows others to gain. Have you ever helped someone and later found out they will help you in the future more than you can ever imagine That older person in the street, might just be the Mother or Father of someone who will change your life because you did a good deed with no material gain. Again it may be using hypnotherapy to help you gain the confidence to make that connection. Sloth or extreme laziness is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. If you lack confidence this can come across as laziness or maybe fear of the unknown. Hypnotherapy may help with fear, anxiety, and confidence issues. Hypnotherapy is used for so many reasons, it really isn’t some form of medieval magic. It just helps the conscious mind to relax and allow the amazing subconscious mind to work at its best. Why not give me a call to book that first session. I am currently based in Harley Street London and Sussex. Let’s start to break down those deadly sins. Becky 07801 941949 [email protected] www.BeckyWells.com ![]() So they say we can link ourselves to everyone in the world by a maximum of six degrees of separation? Well let’s try it. How can I be linked to Tom Cruise? I have done some work as Associate Personal Trainer for Matt Roberts. Matt Roberts has trained Mel C, Mel C is friends and part of the same girl group as Victoria Beckham. Victoria Beckham is married to David Beckham who is good friends with Tom Cruise. Well would have thought it he never calls or phones when we are linked so closely (laughs out loud) It just shows you also what a small world it really is and how friendship can be shared all around the world without a second thought. Do you ever take the time to sit and talk to your friends or are you someone who unloads everything on them? Some people lack the confidence to tell their story, why not allow the quietest person in the group to lead the conversation one day. You may be surprised at the life changing thoughts they have been afraid to share. If you’re that quiet person and feel you don’t have the confidence to speak up get help to overcome it. Hypnotherapy can help to raise your confidence and self esteem. You may not realise it but many top individuals still have underlying confidence issues. They’ve just learnt how to override it with their conscious mind. Wouldn’t it be an amazing if you could feel confident enough to stand up and say, “This is how I’d do it”. Who knows where or what you might end up doing! If you would like help with confidence or self-esteem, give me a call Becky 07801 941949 [email protected] www.BeckyWells.com ![]() First day of appointments in the New Year, up bright and early seeing my first client at 7:30am. After my first appointment I headed off from Burgess Hill cross country to Horsham to train the team from the West Sussex magazine ETC and County Times magazine. Luckily they are a very enthusiast group, which always makes my job easier. Although I don't think I'll ever be able to think about Rhinos in the same way again, thanks to Mark Dunsford!! My mission now is to give Simon Robb the washboard abs he desires for the summer. So can hypnotherapy help with fitness and weight loss? The answer is yes in a lot of cases. I have worked with a number of people in the past couple of years by changing their habits through hypnotherapy. For example by hypnotising them to stop eating chocolate and sweet stuff, stopping comfort eating, and so on. The list is endless. I offer a combination of hypnotherapy and fitness advice which is combination that will help to change your mind, change your habits and change your life. Other exciting news is that the Pay it a Forward bands have arrived, all 5000 of them. If you have an idea for a Pay it Forward let me know, If I can help I will. Why not drop me a line? I love to hear your comments Becky [email protected] www.BeckyWells.com Do we ever really stop and listen to the people around us or are we just so involved in our own lives that we just don’t have the time? Today, as always, I talked with some great people. If you look carefully you can sometimes see the sadness behind their eyes. When someone talks to you next time, listen not only with your ears but also your eyes and heart. You might just change that person’s day. What have I been up to? Last week I was invited up to London to experience two treatments that I had never experienced before. The first was a session with David Jarvis from www.thinkpossible.co.uk. David is a movement therapist with clinics in Central and West London. He works with clients who suffer from long-term pain, who have been unable to find a solution after seeing the usual therapists. It’s an amazing concept using movement adjustment of the whole body rather than just a specific area and it’s used when treating an injury to achieve a long-term solution to pain. I was amazed after just an hour how different my body felt and how my range of movement was increased. The second session was an Ayurvedic consultation and body massage. An ancient treatment that I notice in the media the Duchess of Cornwall is trying when she recuperates in India. It’s based on an ancient Indian healing system. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was so relaxed I have no idea how I stayed awake on the train home. Jamie Chalmers, the owner of Rasyana Ayurvedic www.rasayana.co.uk, sent a report about me the following day. I discovered that my Dosha (one of three bodily humors that make up one's constitution) was Pitta (controls digestion, metabolism, and energy production) and I scored 21 on my Sattvic (pure mind) score. Apparently one of the highest scores he’d ever seen. I can recommend both experiences if you are based in or visiting London or Edinburgh. Today I met up with a lovely lady called Lindsay who, along with the rest of her family, is raising money for Matilda, their two-year-old daughter who has cerebral palsy. She can have an operation to help her walk if they can raise £70,000. I have donated a crystal for them to auction later in the year and will continue to help them until they reach their goal. Their website is www.walkingmatildausa.com. Every penny helps. I look forward to seeing Matilda in her sparkly shoes once she’s had the operation. What’s planned for the rest of the week? Well I have two Halloween aqua parties lined up on Wednesday that will hopefully raise money for Matilda. Who knows what other mischief I’ll get up to? It’s the week for ghosts, ghouls and little gremlins like me! Of course on Wednesday night I’ll be busy on my broomstick! Happy Halloween everyone, stay safe if you’re trick or treating. Why not book an appointment with me at my Harley Street clinic or in one of my clinics down in Sussex. For hypnotherapy, sports massage and personal training appointments please contact me on any of the contact details below. I look forward to hearing from you.
