I wonder how many of you have fish each and every week? Do you buy it from the supermarket or fresh off the boat from the sea?
Last week I was visiting Forest Row and stumbled across Veasey and Sons fishmongers http://www.veaseyandsons.webs.com. Full of fish caught fresh off the coast of Eastbourne in the morning. So I decided to try the tuna steak, and I must say I wasn’t disappointed. The fish was so fresh I could have imagined I’d just pulled it out of the ocean. It was probably the tenderest tuna I have ever tasted. I do know that tuna is not from the UK but I was fortunate enough to see it freshly caught when in Mauritius earlier in the year. They were Sussex Food and Drink award winners for 2012/13, so I think that tells you just how great their food is. I’ll be going back for more. So why is fish good for you? It contains something called Omega-3 fatty acids, which help in lowering blood pressure, reduce blood clotting, boost immunity and improve arthritis symptoms. They are currently researching if it improves children’s learning ability . Eating one to two servings a week of fish, particularly fish that's rich in omega-3 fatty acids, appears to reduce the risk of heart disease, particularly sudden cardiac death. Fatty fish, such as salmon, herring and maybe to a lesser extent tuna, contain the higher level of omega-3 fatty acids and therefore probably offer the most benefit, but many types of seafood contain small amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids. At this rate I might even have to make it a Salmon Saturday. So why not pull up your anchor and set sail for Veasey and Sons in Forest Row. I am pretty sure you won’t be disappointed with your catch. Why not book yourself in to 'a weight off your mind' interactive evening seminar being held on 24th September at the Chequer Mead in East Grinstead. Tickets will be available from the Chequer Mead Box office Box Office: 01342 302000 E-mail: tickets@chequermead.org.uk or by contacting me directly. Have you ever felt like you’re waiting at a bus stop for the right weight loss bus to come along? Sometimes you might even jump on a bus thinking it’s going to take you to the right destination only to discover yourself jumping off several stops later. I wonder what makes you try that that particular bus? Maybe the fancy selling techniques with promises of amazing results at your destination, or maybe they’ve discounted it? Did you ever look to see if you’d ever been on that bus before? What about taking the hypnotherapy ticket next time? You may be going back on that same old bus but this time you notice you have all your own skills packed in your bag to use along the journey. Not only that but when you get a few stops or even further you find you only want to jump off to get on the next leg of your journey. So now you’re not always ‘weighting to get off’ but ‘weighting’ to take that journey to a whole new you. The studies indicated that clients using the apps showed an average weight loss of 10lbs in six months. What it didn’t suggest is combining two or three solutions together to form a perfect package for each individual. How about a weight loss app combined with hypnotherapy to change habits? Or even both the above with a personalised training programme? Training doesn’t have to involve a gym. I walk and exercise my dog ever day. Fitness and fresh air, what more could you ask for? So why just a smart app? Make yourself the smart ‘app’ by choosing the right “clicks” to make your body work effectively? Why? Because you find yourself more able to deal with issues when those arguments in your head are not fighting against each other. I agree with Sunny Chai that almost everyone has the ability to and knowledge from within to change their quality of life for the better. As hypnotherapist or other therapist we act as facilitators guiding the clients to find their own solutions or understanding new pathways of positive change. Hypnotherapy I believe allows the body and mind to reach a deeper state of relaxation where it has that ‘I knew that’ moment. http://www.theborneopost.com/2013/04/15/hypnotherapy-can-help-resolve-many-of-lifes-problems/ For more information CLICK For bookings CLICK Last year it was 21 degrees, we’ll be lucky if we see 3 degrees later this evening. Definitely not time to put those winter woollies away yet. Whilst out for a walk today with hat, scarf, coat and thermals, I was looking around as I walk at all the wild plants in suspension. Bluebells desperately holding onto their blooms and buds on trees staying tightly closed. Do we hold onto things too long sometimes? How many times have you held onto a thought and allowed it to eat into you for way too long? Hypnotherapy can help to unlock those damaged trails of thought patterns and help to create new pathways and fresh outlooks on the walk of life. Although I’d seen it on my holidays last week, you can’t beat a cool spring day with the sun shining and a long walk. Exercise doesn’t have to cost a penny. If you go out for a walk you are surrounded by the most amazing countryside. How many times a year do you go out for a walk? Can you count them on one hand? When we don’t see snow we moan about the weather not having seasons and when it snows we blame everything on the weather. Have you ever thought that proper planning means we could be prepared for any situation that we are put in? Would you arrange a dinner party without knowing what your guests like and without having the ingredients? I doubt most would. Think of your next move like one of those dinner parties. You’ve already got the ingredients in you to make that end product. You might need a little help from the professionals but the main ingredient in your life is you. YOU are extraordinary and there is no one else like you, whoever you are. Or are you up and out the door before the alarm goes off, raring to go? I was back to the office today, catching up with appointments I had to postpone before my holiday. Loved catching up with all they’ve been up to and, like a proud Mum, listening to all their achievements so far. I am lucky enough to have a job I love, and most importantly I get to feel proud when I make a positive difference to someone’s life. Have you ever wanted to change careers maybe, become that Lion keeper or boat maker… so many careers are there for the taking. I use hypnotherapy to build up individuals’ self esteem, confidence and even interview confidence. If you feel it’s time for a change and feel you are missing that certain factor to achieve it, just give me a call and I’ll help you get the ball rolling. What it showed was the rallying around of communities in appalling conditions. I watched the antics on Facebook and Twitter develop throughout the night and by late evening when people had been stuck on the Motorway and A roads for several hours, the locals rallied together, even though they did not know each other, to put together efforts to get provisions to the stranded. It reminded me of stories my Nan still tells me of families and neighbours looking after each other. I imagine for those of you reading this that were born in the 80’s or before you can remember the neighbours all knowing each other and stopping to share the time of day. I love the summer, where neighbours appear and conversations continue over the fence. Use the social media to keep in contact, but more importantly don’t forget to go and have a coffee with friends, neighbours and family occasionally. Need that confidence to be able to go out and talk to the neighbours? Then hypnotherapy may help. Becky www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com I may be a bit of clown but being funny has it serious points. Have you ever seen the film ‘Patch Adams’, the Doctor who helped people with laughter? If you haven’t, I highly recommend it. It’s based on a true story and the real Patch Adams is still going strong and heads up the Gesundheit Institute in the USA Google it, it’s an amazing place and a really inspirational concept. In every job I’ve done, I always try to bring a sense of humour and by bringing people together with humour; you find that any job can be fun. I remember a version of Thriller reinacted down a hospital corridor in my previous job and God only knows the number of outfits I’ve changed into whilst teaching Aqua. I will continue to try and raise a smile and bring people together because that is what I do. Feel free to join me if you dare, who knows one day I might get to visit the Gesundheit Institute. I’m sure I’ll fit in rather well there, don’t you? Becky www.BeckyWells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com |
