Last year it was 21 degrees, we’ll be lucky if we see 3 degrees later this evening.  Definitely not time to put those winter woollies away yet.  Whilst out for a walk today with hat, scarf, coat and thermals, I was looking around as I walk at all the wild plants in suspension.

Bluebells desperately holding onto their blooms and buds on trees staying tightly closed.  Do we hold onto things too long sometimes?  How many times have you held onto a thought and allowed it to eat into you for way too long?

Hypnotherapy can help to unlock those damaged trails of thought patterns and help to create new pathways and fresh outlooks on the walk of life.

Have you ever stood in the kitchen, opened up the cupboards and looked at the tins, packets, jars, bottles and other ingredients on the shelves?

I relate this to helping my clients look inside their subconscious cupboard. By taking some of the ingredients out one by one and examining the packaging, we can check their “use by” dates to see which need discarding.

The ingredients that are left are then manipulated to create a perfect dish for my client’s life.

You could call it life a la carte.

Do you get up in the morning and look forward to the day ahead or do you get up and dread what the day is going to bring?

I used to be one of those people who did exactly that. I’d get up in the morning, head up to the city, arrive an hour and a half later and walk in a zombie like fashion to my desk. Sit there entering data and wondering how everyone had been doing the same thing for years.

So I did something about it, I retrained. I was also fairly shy, which people that know me now may not believe. So not only did I have to retrain my skills but also I had to retrain me. I had to overcome a fear of standing up and being heard, which to me was something I thought I’d never have the courage to do.

I used various therapies including hypnotherapy, to build up my self-confidence, self-belief and self-esteem. I guess in psychological terms they would probably describe me as an introvert with an extrovert shell.

I will always have that piece of my past in my mind, the shy individual who wouldn’t say ‘boo to a goose’ as they say (still not keen on geese) but I use this to boost how far I’ve come. I look in the mirror and see that shy person sitting there in the past and show them just how far they’ve come and watch them take a deep breath and say “I can go anywhere I want, can’t I, I just need to believe in me”.

So find that mirror, look at how much that person looking back has achieved. If you want to achieve even more or need help with a specific issue, give me a call and enjoy the snow - if it appears tomorrow. Go build snowmen, make a snow angel and have a snowball fight with family or friends.

There can’t be many Brits who aren’t proud of what’s happened in the last two weeks!

I have held my breath, shed tears of joy and sadness and smiled so much I think I could have lit up a Stadium.

Well how to top that, we are all wondering now?

Let’s allow that feeling to spill up over the top of the stadium and engulf the whole UK. We proved that working together is easy. Foreigners to our shores have commented on the friendliness and ease of their visit to this great Isle.

So how can I follow that!

My plan for the year is to make a difference, if I make a positive difference to just one person’s life; I will have succeeded. If I can help more, then everyone I see is just as important as the first.

What’s planned for this week?  Firstly just remembering to take a breath and enjoy breathing in the pride of the nation.

These individuals we’ve watched jump, swim, run and shoot are just like YOU or I! They have trained their bodies and minds to overcome obstacles and setbacks by using these challenges to fuel their motivation to succeed.

Changing yourself from the inside may not always be easy without a guiding hand.

Hypnotherapy acts as that guiding hand, it reminds you, you’ve done it before and you can do it again. It helps you to grab that favourite memory you’d forgotten about from your past and helps you put it in your pocket for a rainy day.

So that’s what I’ve got planned for the week.  I’m going to help some individuals find that forgotten memory and store it for that rainy day in the future.

I am thinking of investing in a canoe to get between clients if the rain continues. What a start to summer (or glummer) as I heard it called.

Have you ever wondered what hypnotherapy can be used for? I would ask that the other way round. What can't it be used for?

Weight loss is one of the areas hypnotherapy can complement and enhance other forms of training such as personal training, pilates and yoga. It gets to the the heart of the matter and can help to change years of bad habits, replacing them with positive ones. I have recently been working with several clients who, by changing their lifestyle and eating habits, lost between 10 and 17 pounds over an eight week period.

Confidence and self esteem is another area where people seem to bloom steadily as the sessions progress. For me the reward of seeing someone grow is so motivational and inspires me a little bit more every time.

What's planned for this week? Glamour magazine team have taken the Royal Great Parks Half Marathon challenge by the horns and are taking their training shoes all round the world. They took their Asics trainers to Australia on a photo shoot. There's dedication for you!

Tuesday they are training in Berkeley Square with myself and Vicky from Matt Roberts 'Training with You'. It's going fantastically well. They've been using muscles in their bodies they didn't even know they had.

I'm off to Harley Street to see clients on Thursday. Then topping the week off with a trip to Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead. I went last year for the first time and was so impressed by the events and exhibitors that I am looking forward to this year even more.

In the British tradition I am going whatever the weather. That's why 'Hunters' were invented.

What a great start to my new company! Appointments have been keeping me very busy, spreading my time between London and Sussex. Last Thursday I went up to a ‘Women in Business’ networking meeting with Jon Roberts, a speaker from Matt Roberts Personal Training. What a fantastic motivational talk.

I picked up the keys to my Harley Street consulting room last Thursday, so appointments will now be available there on a Thursday afternoon.

The training with Team Glamour from Glamour magazine is going fantastically well. They are such highly motivated people who work so well together. They are training for the Great Parks run in London in October and are raising money for MIND. You can follow their training blog on http://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/love-sex-relationships/health-fitness/2012/team-glamour-running-blog#!image-number=1and see what training myself and Vicky from the Matt Roberts ‘Training with You’ team have been putting them through.

My Matt Roberts ‘Training With You’ ladies in Mid Sussex are also doing amazingly well with their sessions.  They have been going for four weeks now and have lost almost 16 kilograms between them already (almost 30 bags of sugar)! They have lost 25cms around their waist and 12.5cms round their hips between them.  Keep up the great work ladies.

So what’s planned for next week?  Well lots more hypnotherapy and sports therapy clients are booked in but I have given myself the day off for my birthday on Wednesday 11th (21st birthday again for the 17th time)!

Monday at 9am I’ll be over in East Grinstead on the Meridian 107  FM Breakfast radio show I sponsor with Mark Dodson, and then off for my coffee  at Mr Andre’s coffee shop. I’ve missed them whilst I’ve been so busy the last  few weeks.

On Tuesday evening, why not come and watch us  train the Glamour Team in Berkeley Square.  Fingers crossed the rain stays
away!

We can think of ourselves as an acorn just being planted in the ground, nutured and protected to provide us with the best start we could ever have asked for and given every opportunity to grow into whatever size and shape we want.

I am now that small sapling breaking through the surface and reaching up for the sky.

Now there may be times on the way when my journey is prevented from going in a certain direction, but the most amazing trees, especially the great Oaks, are the ones with the twists and turns and shapes, which act as protection for other forms of life.
Along the way leaves will fall and some branches may break, but this will only add to the uniqueness of the journey.

People can choose to shelter under my canopy along the way, if they wish, before heading off on their own individual journey. My aim is to help individuals and to provide them with the tools to plant that first seed and encourage them to watch it grow.

Who knows eventually we may have a forest!
